The fiery discovery was made around 2:45 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 23, near Red Toad Road and Bethel Church Road in North East, according to the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office.

Authorities say a CSX train operator first spotted the abandoned commercial delivery truck, which had been stolen from the FedEx center in North East before being dumped and intentionally set on fire along the tracks.

It took firefighters from the North East Volunteer Fire Company approximately 20 minutes to get the fire under control, officials said. The blaze caused an estimated $200,000 in damages.

Investigators determined the fire originated in the truck’s cab and declared the cause as incendiary, indicating it was deliberately set.

No injuries were reported. Now, officials are asking for the public's help. Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact investigators at (410) 386-3050.
